Chatham Baptist Church (CBC) is prayerfully seeking a full-time Senior Pastor that God has prepared to lead its congregation into the future. CBC is in a fast-growing village near Springfield, Illinois. The ideal candidate should be strong in delivering sermons that can challenge the congregation which leads to personal life application. He will be a team builder with excellent communication skills that would relate to all age groups, as CBC is a multigenerational church. Leading by example he will understand how important it is to help the congregation to develop healthy connections and relationships that promote discipleship and growth in faith. He should take part, encourage, and motivate CBC in evangelism through preaching, teaching, and outreach. All evangelistic activities should show Jesus through the Word and action. His most important spiritual gifts should be leadership, shepherding, faith, teaching, and evangelism. CBC prefers that its Senior Pastor has earned a minimum of a Master of Divinity in Theology from a Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Seminary or accredited seminary aligned with the SBC. CBC also prefers that he should have a minimum of 6-10 years of Senior Pastor experience in a church comparable in size to that of CBC with multiple staff that include other ordained ministers and staff. He should meet the qualifications of a church leader following 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9. He should also affirm, believe in, and support the Baptist Faith and Message. He will also embrace CBC-approved long-range goals to create a more inviting culture, develop a discipleship roadmap, expand our prayer ministry, and realize our Acts 1:8 potential.
